This Waste Water Treatment Plant closed in 2012, as well as water treatment it seems the site took soil samples and tested them in the labs. This could be related to the old site across the road which used to produce pesticides and herbicides, and has since been demolished. The treatment plant is also due to be demolished to make way for housing.
After spending a good 2 hours exploring uninterrupted, I decided to take a look in the squash courts nearby. I’d only just snapped my first photo inside when I turned around to see blue lights flashing at the top of the lane, and a Police officer walking along the path with an angry looking German Shepherd. Climbing back out of the window, I started to walk towards him. I explained what I was up to and another officer approached asking to see my photos and ID. After he was happy I wasn’t up to no good he gave me a 10 minute lecture on health and safety and trespassing and I was free to go. Luckily I caught it all on GoPro so I can watch it again later for my own entertainment!
Thanks for looking,
