Oh no, not another Pyestock report!!
It’s funny how you can get attached to certain sites, and from the very first time I saw images of NGTE at Pyestock, I knew it was a very special place.
I’ve been 3 times now, once solo, and twice with my regular partner in crime Urbanity, along with a few others on the most recent trip.
The thing that always sticks in my mind when walking around Pyestock, is that every single last detail on the site, every pipe, switch, dial and Turbine was purpose made just for this site, and is totally individual.
Perhaps that’s what makes this Petro-chemical and asbestos riddled industrial monolith just so appealing!
As for the history of the site, www.ngte.co.uk is the most informative and in depth source of information available anywhere.
The future of what is one of the most important industrial sites ever built, now lies in the hands of Prupim and Prologis, who intend to clear the site and built a large distribution centre, all in the name of progress!
A few photo’s, some of which may have been seen before, (sorry!)
