after leaving deva me and goldie stopped off to see,
RAF Tilstock was operational between 1942 - 1946, most of the buildings still remain although many are in poor condition, the control tower is boarded up and apparently empty, there are many billet / hut style buildings Its mainly stripped out apart from ventilation and other pipe work. Other surrounding buildings have things still left in them but nothing from ww2, however there is still a very old car in one of them, believed to be a sunbeam Talbot 90 inside the main building we found what looked like a telephone exchange i think:)

none of the control tower it looks like all the others tbh!! apart from all the windows and doors are breeze blocked up, im sure goldie will post some of his up too:)

Unfortunately we missed lots: saw the control tower, shelters, a squash court or fire engine house, and various other things from the road! Theres plenty to see, and a lot of the damage is just natural decay. A few of my pics...

Love your fourth photo, Goldie. The colours of the lichen covered walls are amazing. A shame it's been left neglected, but it's ageing beautifully! :)

cracking photos MD, i always think there is something special about these kind of shots at this time of year with the bare trees and fallen leaves, it adds loads to the feeling of dereliction, bet it was quiet as well . excellent, well done!
