This is my first report so its a bit boring, and I'm not good with a camera, so bear that in mind.

Jimspeed13, Shadow23 and myself had a look at a few local bits and bobs the other day, having been defeated by the crowds at an ROC post.

There are numerous pillboxes along the North Gare, at the mouth of the Tees.
A number of them are set back from the water, in amongst marshland, and there is one that, apparently, moves around (the sea fills it with sand, empties it and pushes it around).
On the approach we could see the roof of one of them just showing above the water, but the one we looked at was just above the level of the tide.

Just missed the photo of Jimspeed13's legs waving in the air as he went in through the front:lol:

You missed out the being shot blasted by the very strong wind and sand but i'm sure we'll be back to check the other pillboxes out and the tank traps on the north gare.

Poor old pillbox tipped onto the beach like that! I'm amazed to see it's still got shutters, though...nice find.
I like the idea of the one that moves around.
Look forward to seeing others when you go back. :)

Your pics arent bad at all hun!

Was a good afternoon, excluding the weather! I will get my pics on at some point tonight hopefully

Looking forward to exploring the others :D

as I recall theres a lot on the south gare also. have a look on defence of britain. to make it easier heres the kmz for google earth http://services.google.com/earth/kmz/defence_of_britain_n.kmz or just look at it through google maps via: http://maps.google.co.uk/gadgets/directory?synd=mpl&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fmapfiles%2Fmapplets%2Fearthgallery%2FDefence_of_Britain.xml

you could put your findings in this one report, would be good to see a report of what still stands in the area.
