Not sure exactly what this is but I assume it was used for boats to dock for access to the refinery opposite (although the refinery appears very near, via road access the refinery is quite far so doesnt really make sense to put it where it is? Perhaps this was used for refueling boats that were leaving the refinery???)

Quite an easy explore thanks to the makeshift ladders someone has made but worth a look:

Probably would have been for filling tankers. It looks a bit similar to the one at Milford Haven.
Good pics though

The jetty was biult to service the oil refinery at the landward end of it, the refinery never got off the ground and was demolished some time back, now becoming a nature reserve.

there was a large chimney in the middle of the site wich was going to be fallen by fred dibner and filmed for a show he was making, they removed large sections of the base of the chimney and put in wooden supports, the idea was they were going to light fires wich would burn away the suports and the chimney would fall.

the put in the supports and went for some breakfast, when they returned the chimney was making some strange noises, they got out quick and the chimney fell down by itself, as they were unprepared for this they never got to film it.
