    Default North Mid-Wales Church

The changing location of rural communities has probably had a bigger effect on Welsh churches than those in England. The churches are generally smaller and less ornate than English ones and as communities moved they seemed to build a new church rather than walk the extra mile or so to the previous one. This one is unusual in that there is still a village around it and it is a bit larger than most.
Features of particular interest are an old schoolhouse (to the right on the first photograph, the local community retain ownership of that and the graveyard) and a very old cross. The interior is light and airy. Like many Welsh churches there is a funeral bier and a reliquary storage box remaining in the building.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
