Found this a couple of months back. For various reasons I'm not going to reveal the exact location here and now.
The station seems to have been built in the 1950s to test atmospheric instruments and monitor meteorological phenomena. Abandoned c. 2000-2004, it looks very much like everyone just walked away one day - computers, paperwork and instruments have been left behind and rather alarmingly no-one has thought to cut off the power or water yet. I even tried the button on an ancient desktop PC replete with huge CRT monitor and it sprang into life - quite a surprise.
Hut 1.
Desk
Large display screen
Hut 2.
Hut 2 interior with working lights
Hut 2 interior - other direction
Various components
Notes
Glassware
Punched tape
Hut 3
No idea what this is, it's half inside, half outside and about 20' long
Hut 4 and mast
Hut 4
Hut 4
Mast
Weather station
Stevenson screen
Chemicals
Wind direction meter
Paperwork
Graffiti
Thanks for reading,
A.
