Many years ago I came across a number of small framed line drawings of country mansions. They had obviously been removed from a single old book - size and scale were all the same. They made more than I was prepared to spend at auction and I never saw any similar items over the years. I have now found out that originally they were issued as a series of pamphlets, date, publisher and printer unknown and that a 'deluxe' bound collection could be obtained by subscribers. They were certainly pre 1900's, probably mid 1800's in origin. The title of the bound edition, if it was a commercial issue and not just a private binding was 'Great Houses of the Ridings'. I can find not reference anywhere, even at the excellent British Library - anybody come across this book in their research?
