Paid a return visit to Harby and met the new landowner. Decent chap who had no problem with us going to look at the post. The tbar has now been mangled and the hatch is held shut with a brick. The whole comms board has now also gone missing, and you could see someone had been having a good rummage through everything. Real shame as this was a really clean post, one of Leicestershires best :( I did have a quick tidy up while we were there. Im really tempted to go back and speak to the owner about repairing the hatch.

Im sure quite a few have sinks, but not usually like that, there normally in the WC.
2 out of the 6 here on the Island have standard sink units ;)

Good post, nicely kept, and not wrecked like most of them are nowadays...

Can you remember the date on that Sun newspapers by any chance? OR what was on the cover?

The guy that owns this loves it, he has most of the stuff back at the farm... he is worth a chat to, he has pictures of his old man at the original orlit during WW2

Yep the farmer is an interesting bloke to speak to, not seen him about for a few years though! He used to open the post up on special days, but that hasn't happened for a long time. I think he had left some stuff in there around 2007 and it got stolen :( As MD says the land is now owned by another old chap, he seems a decent bloke.
