Went with Prendy to check out an" old disused railway " and station house in herts, but unfortunately (for us) the info is a little out of date!!!And the station house has been completely refurbed and is now someones(very posh!!!)house!!!
So we decided to have look about the place for any evidence of the line.
did nt find much apart from bits of the old platform
now
then
Thought wed travel a bit further up for a mooch and found a cool victorian bridge
Prendy following his nose!!!!
Then after a bit we saw this in the distance WTF??
Couldnt get directly to it so we moved about a bit!!(gettin stung to F@@k!!!)
And manged to pick it up a bit downstream, and were able to get under a newer bit and follow it up,
Prendy in full nettle ninja mode!!!!!
we even found two anderson shelters on the way!!!
After a while we were there, looks kinda like a victorian viaduct of sorts with brickwork
and pipework sections that feeds a water treatment site.
We reckon its a least a mile long more like two and comes from a lake on a nearby estate. And about 15/20ft off the ground(in parts)
(can confirm this after a look at google earth)
The water was quite fast flowing and some of the concrete wasnt in the best of condition.
So softly softly was the best way!!lol
Bit shady over these bits!!!!
Inside
Quite a good explore really as we were looking for something else entirely!!!!!
(Even though some of us arent keen on big metal spikey things!!!!eh prend!!lol)
Never seen anything else like this before are they common???
