I'd never even heard of this place before until we were practically on top of it, I had only seen a couple of photos my friend took in one of the chapels about two years ago so was in for another big surprise.
Holy Tree Hospital (not it's real name ) was a former hospital once owned by a monastic order and housed in their former monastery. The building contains one large church and one smaller chapel as well as the old retreat house and dorms converted for hospital use. It's been empty for a number of years but the power is still on in the old monastery building although turned off in the retreat house which is showing signs of serious decay.
Despite being cleared out of almost all hospital equipment it contains one incredibly rare relic from the past - an intact iron lung. As an estimate there is maybe a low double-digit quantity of these left in the USA, most of them being in museums. Unfortunately some idiots decided to scribble over it with marker pens which is thoroughly asinine but thats what idiots do sadly.
Thanks for looking, more here https://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/albums/72157680385696904
