Stumbled across this old relic whilst exploring Fife. Not much to see as there are loads of tyres stashed inside. The 'Y' shaped interior wall is to prevent ricochets from stray bullets.
The bird's nest fits in well with the architecture, even that looks like its got a nice embrasure
Can't make out the front profile SP, do you have anymore outside pics
Phil
D'you know, I keep coming back to this thread to have another look...plus checking pillbox stats on the appropriate websites! My guess is, from the position of the walls inside, that it's a Type 24.
Love the nest. I've often seen swallows flying in and out of pillboxes...a real bonus.
Hi Foxy
Orignally thought type 24 myself but picture 4 confuses me
Phil
Yes, that flummoxed me too, Phil. I can't understand why there's a wall there with an embrasure directly behind it!
Hi Fox
Just found this online, seems to be within a couple of miles of SPs , possibly a local design
