1. The History
An old garage building and accompanying house that has apparently laid derelict for 30 years or more. Located on the A10 at Setchey, just south of King’s Lynn, Norfolk. Little to no history out there which is probably no great surprise. A number of classic cars remained various state of rust including E-type Jaguar and a Triumph Herald. Unsurprisingly, due to the value of these cars, they have long since disappeared from the site.
The garage originally belonged to Alan Giles. The cars left behind were apparently from customers who for some reason never collected them. There was also a Chriscraft boat and a Riley Cabriolet left to rust and rot. Circa 2012, the garage roof collapsed crushing many of the cars still remaining. A much-photographed yellow petrol pump that stood in the layby at the front of the garage went missing back in March 2013.
2. The Explore
Not particularly worth going out of your way for, but given I was staying round the corner from this place, decided to have a shufty round here on a very wet December day. Props to @Mikeymutt for the original report on this place and the info on it.
While the house alone here is of no great interest the rusting old motors most definitely ARE! The most interesting ones were at the back in the garage where the roof had long since collapsed, making them extremely difficult to access and photograph. Overall, though, a fun hour or so foraging in the overgrown buildings.
