Great pics - and this (as well as a similar post from Tazong) has got me looking for ROC sites in my area.... the ones I've seen reported on so far are pretty flooded, so you got lucky with this & I may have to invest in large wellies!!! Fantastic report Rubix - cheers

Well I was in one of these back in the early 80's. There was one every 15 miles circular distance in the uk (it could have been 5 miles, memory going ! ) We would take the bearings of the explosion and relay height and distance, and strength back to HQ, and the girls would plot the area of fallout, and then controller would direct emergency services through the safe areas. I think we had a special paper that measured the strength of the blast. One 24 hour exercise had over 25 strikes on the uk !
