Been wanting to see Scotts grotto in Ware for a while and as I had an hour or two to burn before it opened I went down the B1256 to Dunmow for this. I have known about it for 10 - 15 years & never got round to seeing inside. There is a large wood behind with an avenue that leads to the faint remains of an RAF base at Little Easton. As I was working out how viable the entry into the left side would be a Tawny Owl came in over my shoulder and bounced around inside well pissed off. After I assured it I meant no harm it flew straight at me and hit me in the face with its left wing. Luckily it didn't empty the contents of its bowels on me and as I stepped back I was left with the unusual sight of its rear end disappearing around the right side of the gate house....no photographs of this as it happened too fast.

On the way back to Bishop's Stortford I passed the rubble and diggers now occupying this place

It would seem that the developers are moving into Stansteads flight path in a big way as virtually every plot of unused land has either little boxes full of ticky tacky or a for sale sign on it.
Anyway found this past Takeley - a half house - upper story gone completely.
Used up my spare time by then so went on to see this which is weird but not derelict.
Thanks for looking.
