Visited with Gridnutter
The T bar lock on this one has been jammed for ages and ROC fiends will know that it has been visited regularly by people putting WD40 into the mechanism in an attempt to free it.
Myself and Gridnutter took a more pragmatic view and used more physical means to free the hatch (please note, this was done with full permission of the farmer and no damage was done). The Post is now re-locked.
Talking to the farmer we also found out what the odd contraption stuck on the FSM pipe was. It was in fact made and used as a mount for a telescope that a local man used after the ROC stood down and had nothing whatsover to do with the ROC.
The farmer has been down once when the Post was handed back in the early '90's and since then the hatch has been jammed so we were the first down for about 16 years !
