Woollen Signs was a manufacturer of wool signs,
opened in 1883 by Edwin James Woollen and Frederick Ibbotson.
The company closed these works in 2005,
which now lie empty are in a poor way with crumbling bricks/ heavy vegetation.
that device (jackhammer?) in photo 5 shows how old the place is. it has a 15a mains plug on the cable (common in the 1940's). So it must have been quite an original place right up until the end if they were still plugging that in!
