Wusterwitz Barracks - Germany

This was our first stop close to Berlin. I don't think I have seen this place explored before, I spotted it on Google Earth and decided to check it out. The remaining buildings shown here were once part of a massive complex, most of which is still in use and looks very impressive. I imagine it being something similar to the British Army Garrison Towns of Aldershot and Colchester in it's day.

Pretty trashed, but still the odd interesting thing knocking about.

It is Ex-Soviet and prior to that it was Wehrmacht.

Looks very similar to one of the barracks I was posted to up near Hamburg back in the 80's. Did it look as if it may have had stables at one time? I love that old style German architecture.

I think it may have done, it reminded me of a Cavalry Barracks for some reason.
