Myself and Nemesis decided we'd have a few hours to visit Pendennis castle and see the WW2 guns, it was quickly realised the castle was closed due to the weather, and an alternative entry was arranged
we were there for the guns and the guns alone....so we went away delighted,
in the coastal batteries naval issue 6" BL guns were in great condition, although these wernt the guns in use in ww2, having been built in 1946,
half moon battery did see action in 1944 when they took action against german "E" boats on march 1st during the run up to D-Day,
also a few QF guns - same as those that were at staddon point, devils point etc plymouth
a bit of spirited running around the grounds, but worth the effort!
enjoy
