Hi all
This was the start of a week in wales, another 600 miles epic road trip with Fluffy and also meeting up with Druid for a more company.
Me and Fluffy did this site a few years back but it was all sealed up, so seeing a few reports about the place at the moment I was dying to go back and get inside.
If you want to know about the history - "Google is your best friend".
As Slim (not any more ) Jim and Dick (I might be a bit to big ) Derpin have just put up a post I`ll try and keep this a bit different.
Concrete porn time.............
Looking along the flooded rail line next to the loading platform.
There are two internal lifts inside the store, front and rear (this is the rear lift) thanks to Druid for the back light.
Looking at the cross passages on the upper floor.
There are a few WW2 signs from when it was still a bomb store.
View from the stair case.
At the very back of the bomb store is a curved rock cut passage that leads through the mountain to the slate quarry behind. This quarry was where lots of the old WW2 munitions were disposed of (chuck them over the edge), the water filled quarry has now been cleared. The rock cut passage is "FUN" to get in to.
At the far end the light at the end of the tunnel and the deep flooded quarry beyond.
Well that will do for now, cheers for looking and all comments are most welcome, there are loads more pictures on my FlickR site so head on over to :-
