Pianoforte started off as j.masters and sons in 1910.manufacturing polishing paste.it closed down in 1922 and was bought by a former employe who went on to start producing castings and fixings for piano parts.then later on automobile parts.it suffered a large fire in 1933,and then during the Second World War it switched its attention to the war effort..by creating parts for planes and aoutos.at its peak it had 1800 workers in the sixties.the railway station closed later on and the site started to go into decline.with piano parts being ceased to be made anymore in the eighties.there is still manufacturing going on there.there is a lot of derelict buildings on the main site but this is all well covered by PIR'S and CCTV..so I had a mooch around the other bits.although not huge had some nice industrial bits there.
