The DOB has this listed as Huntsmill Pumping station but as it’s on the south bank of the river Huntspill, it may be a typo. It was built circa 1939 to service ROF Bridgwater and has a defence post within the compound. The river itself was created with the purpose of providing a dedicated water supply for the Ordnance factory.
Not a big explore but interesting because of its connection to the ROF. It’s heavily overgrown and is currently awaiting decommissioning.
The Pumphouse
Main entrance door is welded
So an alternative was required. I went climbing and realised that my scruffs were like trying to climb with bricks tied to my feet.
However, I was rewarded with a view of the inside although nothing much to see except the inevitable pigeon shit.
So I moved on to the Defence post in the corner of the compound stopping for a quick bit of valve porn along the way.

There is a second smaller building on the site but it would have required the services of a chainsaw to get in.
Well there you go, a small but reasonably satisfying mooch. Thanks for looking in.
