Most enjoyable as always NC. Leaving the wood shuttering in place could also help solve a little mystery for me on a TSL pillbox or not as the case may be.

Using the word loophole may get you into trouble again.;)

Thanks for the update. :)

What's the mystery? If it's TSL related the chances are I can answer it ;)

Time to finish off the trip.

Remember this one, well I'd sussed out how to get to it so on my way back I decided I had time for a visit.

Easy enough to get to just walk straight past the one which looks like a shed, trouble is your met by an inpenatrable wall of brambles
and vine but you can get round the side which is not quite as bad.

Climbing through the embrasure was not that easy with a fence in the way but this is what it looks like out the entrance.

Floor with the gun steady slots.

And growth out of the embrasures.

Back outside and you can find the screws which held the netting down still there.

And some where under that lot you can just make out the grated vent.
Any way time to get back and the surprise I said .

Just as I got here I looked at the fork where the millstream runs off to the left and I can make out the
unmistakable shape of a type28.

It's under all that ivy by the sign

I'd put money on there being a Type 28 there, just need to talk to the as the place is covered by cameras. Another day maybe.
That's it for this trip I'll see if I can get a few more down the Kennet in the near future.

Little update on the Blue line as I managed to get away for a couple of hours. This time I went to Aldermaston Wharf which is getting into Alensworld area. I had hoped to find three or four pillboxes but I ended up with two and a sighting of a third.
First I tried to park at the station but found the tight bastards even charge on a Sunday so I parekd somewhere else but as I walked past the station entrance I noticed this.

Rail Block?

5627981315_eec807e2b3_b.jpg

Couple more.

This one is becoming hidden and one the hedge here has grown it will be lost, when I reached this
point I had passed a pillbox somewhere by a lock but I'll have to return for that some time.

From this way you coul dnot guess it was here.

Inside the rickoshet wall has been removed and it looks like some one has been liveing
there are some time.

5628563848_a70bbfc103_b.jpg

Best shot I can get of the back and entrance.

5628026123_82bf9295b3_b.jpg

On the otherside of the swingbridge is this favorite of Johney a Type28A.

5628026273_260cdfa600_b.jpg

No chance of looking inside as it is blocked up as tight as a ducks arse.

5628026661_4e6b38eca5_b.jpg

Front embrasure well blocked up.

Had to try out my new Canon 10 - 22 lense, I was on the edge of the base and one
slip from the Kennet.

Back up from Padworth lock along the towpath is a fence and somewhere in this lot I spotted the entrance od a Type28, climbing did not look viable but I have a number to contact and I notice a
possable way in. That;s it for now the next section is along from here to Woolhampton
when I get a chance. More on Flickr and I need to sort out my exposures.

mate your work is awesome as usual. Judging by the marks left on the pillbox roof where they removed the anti ricochet wall I'd say it was a type 22
