Just a few photos of an abandoned pub that has been left to rot for decades. This explore took place in August 2022 the same day as Jem's Diner.

Could not find much history on this place apart from it was built in 1845 and closed in 1986. Almost 40 years gone to decay. There have been plans to renovate the pub including one to convert it into a hotel with 80 something rooms. I know for a building of it's size and that it was located just across the road from the town's old railway station.

Thought for a min u had got in here, its always well sealed up, though I don't imagine there is much to see inside.
I believe the issue is flooding, they cant seem to stop the basements from doing so!
I'm surprised they haven't pulled it but it may be listed

Interesting post. I drove past this pub yesterday and am sure I recognised it from the 1980s. Coarse fishing was very popular at this time and Oundle has lots of stretches of the Nene to fish on. A local paper (The Evening Telegraph) sponsored annual events that would see match fishing clubs from across the region compete against each other and this pub would be the meeting point before and after the fishing for hundreds of anglers, the pub opening early in the morning especially for them. It was quite a sight to see it packed both inside and out at 8am in the morning. I'd say it was perhaps a little later that 1986 though, possibly 1987 or even 1988?
