This was a spur of the moment thing, I was on a late night drive through the Lake District (when there are no slow coaches around!) having a good time when I turned off towards Threlkeld. I didn't know this was here until I shot past the sign!

Did a quick U-turn and parked up. The pictures are from the start of the museum, the old machinery outside.

I spent about an hour and a half until it (typically) started raining. It was patchy cloudy so the long exposure came up with some soft results...

i really like the night shots of the sky ( bit of a night time fan) and u did really well with these also the machines are great as well, i must admit i am not to keep on star trails myself unless they are stupidly long but for me pic 1 does it, the colours are great and the dark swing arm looks perfect, have u got a shot of pic one with no trails out of interest,

Nope, I started the exposure in a different location, leaned back on the tracks of the machine and noticed the POV was much better where I sat, so I quickly moved it.

tbh, after the 40 minutes was up, I was bored shitless so went back to the car. The pictures might look good, but 40 minutes of doing bugger all on your tod in the middle of the night in the elements isn't exactly thrilling! I did see a shooting star though:)
